National Consumers League Holds 2009 National Lifesmarts Championship Celebrating Consumer Knowledge – LIVE STREAM

On Tuesday, April 28, the National Consumers League held the finals of the 2009 National Lifesmarts Championship in St. Louis, Missouri. More than 22,000 consumer savvy teens representing 30 states competed at the national competition held to teach the next generation of consumers how to succeed in the marketplace in ways their parents haven’t.

LifeSmarts is an educational program that develops the consumer and marketplace knowledge and skills of teenagers. The competition begins online at the state level, where teens form teams and are quizzed at www.lifesmarts.org on issues ranging from personal finance and health and safety to the environment, technology, and consumer rights and responsibilities.

The luncheon also recognized honorary co-chairs, Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) and Mary Bono Mack (R-CA).

WHTC is a non-profit organization that promotes the exchange of ideas among leaders in the public and private sectors whose focus is technology, innovation and the development of public policy related to technology. The event focused on the contributions Crawford and Novelli have made in both the public and private sectors.
