In talking about revitalizing the nation’s economy, much of the conversation centers around small businesses. They have long been an engine of American job creation and economic growth. And, many of the most successful in recent years have been technology companies creating opportunities through broadband.

The premise of the upcoming Bootstrap Maryland conference is that you don’t need boatloads of cash to start a technology company. And in fact, most products fail due to lack of marketing, not failed technology. Enter DC tech star Jared Goralnick to organize a conference focused on the inexpensive ways you can get your tech business off the ground. His broader mission? To see Maryland, DC, and Virginia flourish with innovation.

Bootstrap Maryland will be held Saturday, May 2nd, at the University of Maryland, College Park. Speakers will share stories, lessons learned and social media tips from their own experiences launching technology companies in the DC area.

The conference is sold out, but expect significant local coverage from attendees and more events down the road from Bootstrap Maryland. NextGenWeb is thrilled to see this kind of interest in technology innovation!
