CNN recently profiled a third grader who only attends class two days a week in order to avoid complications to his Leukemia, now in remission. However, Ahmed Hamdi stays connected to his classroom and classmates on the other days thanks to a high-speed connection and laptop.

Embedded video from <a href=”http://www.cnn.com/video”>CNN Video</a>

Ahmed and his parents, doctors and teachers are all delighted with the results. Right now, the Lombardi Cancer Center only has enough equipment to set up communication lines for six young patients and their school systems, but the Center hopes to make more available soon. A great prognosis for Ahmed and the program!
