NextGenWeb @ Blogging While Brown

NextGenWeb was a proud sponsor of the second Blogging While Brown Conference which was held over the weekend in Chicago. The conference was created with the aim of giving minority bloggers an opportunity to meet each other, explore the challenges facing them, and learn about the latest technology that will assist them with publishing their work. The first day of the conference featured an intensive workshop that covered the basic building blocks of blogging with a focus on learning by doing. The second day was made up of panels with topics including Mobile blogging, Netroots, the Future of traditional media, and entrepreneurship in blogging.

The panels highlighted the growing adoption of broadband in different segments of the population which is helping to achieve a wide variety of goals and objectives, ranging from advocacy at the national and local level to news gathering and dissemination. The increase in adoption also points to the need for robust and reliable networks to support current and future users.

Overall the conference was terrific; full of passion, information and great people. Congratulations to the Blogging While Brown Conference host committee!
